Caffeine For Migraines

The best way to treat a migraine is obviously through pain killers.  But if you have noticed, there is one major difference between migraine pills and regular pain pills.  It’s not significantly multiplied doses of the pain killer, it’s not something else like that, which you might expect.  They add caffeine.  Caffeine wakes up the systems, and ultimately speaking, it helps these pain killers to treat your migraines.

Now in some ways, it doesn’t make sense.  After all, one of the known side effects of caffeine would be headaches for some people.  Basically speaking, caffeine works by increasing alertness, decreasing fatigue, and improving muscle coordination.  There are various different sources of caffeine ranging from the coke in your fridge to chocolate to various other sources.  So you can basically find caffeine everywhere.

But what you may not realize and why they use it is because in studies, caffeine has actually been shown to make pain killers and other ingredients 40% more effective in terms of their ability to get into the bloodstream.  It helps the body to specifically absorb headache medications significantly faster, ultimately bringing faster relief.  And it also lessens the likelihood of addiction to said medications as well as other side effects connected to them.

It’s ironic  yes.  To many of us, it doesn’t make sense.  But for the best migraine treatments, for the best headache treatments in general, you should always use caffeine when possible, because of all its possible benefits.
